Kristian Barrass

A versatile and creative lighting TV/corporate camera operator and DOP with over 30 years network broadcast TV and branded corporate video experience filming in many different situations, whilst able to quickly adapt to rapidly changing environments. ITV News, Channel 4 News, BBC Network News, BBC Breakfast, The One Show and BBC regional news, are regular clients for whom I work for as a lighting camera operator and a shoot edit. I also regularly film EFL football games as a single operator or part of a 4 or 2 camera set up for ITV/Sky/IMG. Recent high profile credits as lighting camera operator and DOP have included, "Grand Designs" for Channel 4, "My Lover My Killer", "Kill Thy Neighbour", "Sunderland Till I Die" for Netflix and features on the BBC’s One Show. Based between Leeds and Hull in East Yorkshire, I offer affordable location filming, editing, drone and full video production services across the North, Midlands and whole UK. I own and offer a range of high-end equipment - Sony FX9 full frame 4K and Sony A7S3 cameras along with a range of lenses, extensive lighting, sound, gimbal, green screen, autocue and supporting kit. I also offer 4K/1080 HD aerial drone filming and photography services as Im CAA licensed and fully insured. Don't worry if you don't have the time or budget to send a director or producer as I'm happy and confident to self direct including conducting interviews and self shooting. I'm happy to work remotely as a directing self-shooter on broadcast TV programmes as well as increasingly on corporate assignments for leading agencies such as Media Zoo, Polar Media, The Marketing Cafe, Middle Tablle, Proudmotion and ITV/BBC News amongst others. Being based near Hull and the Humber region has led to numerous assignments in the petrochemical and renewable energy sectors including filming projects at INEOS, Orsted, I-Gas, BP and Dong Energy - both on and off shore. All bookings include use of a large crew vehicle.
